The Slick 360 aircraft was designed almost exclusively with competition aerobatics in mind. Glen Dell’s vision was to have a modern aerobatic aircraft designed and manufactured that possessed the ultimate balance of power, weight and manoeuvrability. The aircraft was to be built from composite materials such as carbon and carbon Kevlar. This was the brief that was given to Global Composite Solutions (Pty) Ltd.
Slick 360 News update - June 2008
- Complete new integrated digital instrument panel....the highly successful MGL Avionics Odyssee EFIS display was opted for and the look of the panel redesigned. By incorporating this type of display, a weight of almost 5kg on the panel alone was saved, lowering the weight of the already light (500 kg) Slick even more.
- The tailwheel has been redesigned in order to save weight, and to improve ground manouvres. The new tailwheel configuration consists of an all composite (carbon) leafspring, steerable machined tailwheel mount, and new tailwheel rudder springs. This new design not only saves weight, but is also very strong in design and definitely one of the best looking in the business.
- Adjustable pilot seat...We are proud to announce that the Slick now comes with a standard adjustable seat to accommodate aerobatic pilots up to 6.6" in height.
- New wing skin moulds...We are in the process of upgrading our wingskin moulds to improve our already superior finished aircraft even further. The new moulds will improve wing manufacture and finishing times considerably, as well as saving weight due to less profiling and finishing to achieve our legendary mirror-like wing surfaces.
